I bought my R-Line in Urano Grey on June 26th from VW in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. On the 4th July I had a serious of errors all flash up, one after the other. This included the more serious sounding "ERROR : DRIVE SYSTEM. PLEASE VISIT WORKSHOP " This message reappeared a few times.
I returned the Tiguan to the garage on July 10th and to date that's when I last saw it ! Apparently the garage found the errors were down to software issues and these could only be resolved when VW in Germany re-wrote and supplied a new version of the software for my car. I have been in loan cars since, T-Cross and currently a very dull Golf base trim estate. I have since contacted VW Finance services who are investigating my "complaint".

Just to make sure you're aware, although you may not wish the hassle. As you reported the fault in your new car within 30 days of taking ownership of it, you are entitled to reject it in terms of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as it is neither of satisfactory quality, nor fit for purpose. It's not up for debate; it's your right to a full refund. If you don't wish to reject it, you can use it as a bargaining tool for some form of compensation from VW.

Secondly, given that you are purchasing the car via finance, you are also protected by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and can request a full refund, for the same reasons, from the Finance Company, who are part of the three way finance contract between you, them and the dealer.

Thanks Gordonc1960 for your reply and advice. Like you say its potentially a hassle, but I'm getting very close to go down that road...
So unless something dramatic happens, on Wednesday this week it will be 10 weeks since I last saw "my" Tiguan (it doesn't feel like I ever bought it now). There was supposedly the long awaited software update coming at the end of last week and even talk of arranging a SECOND handover at the weekend. Of course it never happened.
I've read on this forum somewhere that a software update curing all the Tiguans faults was 8 weeks away from August 8th. That's more like early October then.
Another interesting fact I've learned from my dealer is that apparently "my" Tiguan is only one of 3% with the software faults ! Pull the other one.
There is a nice renovated MK1 Golf GTi in the garage up the road from where I work that is looking increasingly appealing.

Yeah not sure on their claim of 3% I have the same issue, and when I had VW roadside assist come out the other week he said every single mk3 he had seen had the same issue. I do have a way to fix the issue though and clear the error codes. You need to go into the fuze box and remove and then re-insert the two fuses for the front camera sensor in your windscreen, once you have done the move the steering wheel to full lock left and full lock right and back to the center and that will clear the error codes. That was a tip from the VW roadside assist chap.

I had the same issue with the sensors and the dealer has said that they don't have a solution for this at the moment. This week I haven't driven the car for less than two days and the battery got completely drained so that I even had to open the car with a physical key to get inside. I think it is related to this issue with the camera module, somehow it drained the battery.
After jump-starting the car with road assistance help, I drove for a day all errors are gone completely.
I can confirm that disconnecting a battery can fix this temporarily (someone on this forum suggested this fix) and the solution with fuses could work too if you know what to remove.
