TOUCH-UP PAINT FOR MK3 TIGUAN - NOT AVAILABLE FOR 3 YEARS,

I have the Tiguan Elegance in Persimmon Red Metallic and the first thing I always buy with a new car is touch-up paint.

Exremely disappointed with Volkswagen as they appear to have lost the plot!!

My local dealer, and the dealer who supplied the car, told me the paint was on back order so I placed an order for it anyway!

Today, my local dealer tells me that he has been told by Volkswagen that the paint won’t be available until 31 December 2027!!!

EITHER VOLKSWAGEN HAS GONE TO THE DOGS OR THE DEALER IS HAVING A LAUGH!

WHAT CAR MANUFACTURER LAUNCHES A CAR IN A COLOUR THAT CUSTOMERS CAN’T BUY TOUCH-UP PAINT FOR??

STEAMING MAD WITH VW!!

I have tried to buy a VW boot liner six weeks ago when I collected my Tiguan Match, part number 571061161 but told on back order, tried again last week, still on back order!

I have bought paint from Paints4U.com in the past. Always a good colour match and much cheaper than the OEM. Usually buy the scratch master kit.

I purchased the car from Swindon and both they and Cardiff VW have checked and found the paint to be on back order. It was Cardiff who chased it further with VW who then told them that it was not available until DEC 2027.

I have since taken this up directly with VW, via Facebook Messenger and they did not deny the Dec 2027 info.. All they did was give me apologies and disingenuous cr*p about how they understand my dissatisfaction! They did ask for my Reg. No. and then provided the paint code, something I already knew, together with more useless apologies but no tangible information as to when or where I might get the paint!

It seems that in the four years since I purchased my previous Tiguan, Volkswagen has gone to the dogs!!

Plenty of places will make you a small touch up paint in the right colour, I'm not sure what your colour is but I'm guessing it's some kind of special colour which has a metallic in the lacquer?

It’s Persimmon Red Metallic. Yes, sure you’re right - there are numerous suppliers on Amazon for starters.

Still amazed that VW can’t get such a basic commodity to market sooner when they launch a new car!!
