Hello everyone,
I joined the forums as I’ll soon take delivery of an Elegance ehybrid in dolphin grey on lease in the UK. Have been told to expect it sometime in January after placing my order a few months ago. Hopefully the date doesn’t get pushed back further than that. I’m coming from a Seat Ateca of which I’ve had 2 and thoroughly enjoyed so hoping the Tiguan will be the same.
I have some questions specific to the ehybrid drivers on here. I can’t seem to find the answers online and the dealer has said the feature isn’t available but I’m not entirely convinced.
I am looking to find out about pre-heating the interior for example during frosty mornings. I can see this feature is available on the ID models where you have the option to set an interior temperature through an app and also set departure times which means you come out to your car and all the windows are defrosted, interior nice and toasty and it’s ready to go. If this feature is available on the Tiguan would someone mind giving me a basic run down of how it works and what your thoughts are on it? Do you have to pay for the app to enable the feature and does the car have to be plugged in to work? I’ve configured the car with the winter pack that has the heated wind screen as well so unsure if that comes on as well during any pre-heating.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
New owner / question for ehybrid drivers
I have the eHybrid. I don’t have the winter pack, but yes you do have the ability to turn on heating/aircon from the VW app. Also appears that you can set departures times.
To be honest I haven’t tried this yet, mainly because I’ve been trying to see how much range I can get on the battery without using it all on heating etc.
I haven’t had to pay for the app or any functionality but not sure if that changes after an initial period.

As already stated by Bolder43, the volkswagen app allows you to start air conditioning by clicking a button. So you can trigger it 30 mins (for example) before you plan to depart.
You can combine this with starting a charging session of the car (in the same app), so the pre-heating does not deplete the battery.
If you have an Ohme charger and the Ohme app, you can program sessions (also called routines in the Ohme app) when you want the Ohme app to start charging the car. In the Ohme app, you can select that a session should finish with 'Cabin preconditioning', but as far as I can work it out, that makes sure enough mains power is delivered to the car to avoid that the battery is used, but it does not trigger the air conditioning, so you still need to activate the air conditioning in the VW app at the appropriate time. In the Ohme app, when you select Cabin preconditioning, it states ' For this feature to work, please enable cabin preconditioning settings in your EV first'.
You can also set a time to start air conditioning in the Infotainment system. (search for stationary air conditioning )
And in the infotainment, you can also create a charging location where you can define a departure time. Air conditioning can be activated before the configured departure time.
I have not tried any of the configuration options in the infotainment system, as they do not coordinate with settings in the Ohme app.

The process looks too complicated for me...wintertired wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 11:49 am As already stated by Bolder43, the volkswagen app allows you to start air conditioning by clicking a button. So you can trigger it 30 mins (for example) before you plan to depart.
