I've received my Tiguan Match eHybrid yesterday and am trying to familiarize myself with all the gadgets. I read that the 12V battery may need a bit of a boost to start of, but I have so far not been able to locate it in the car. Could someone post a picture showing where it's hiding?

Quick search on Google shows that the Mk2 has it located in the boot on the left side behind a panel (passenger side in UK) .
Can’t imagine it will be much different in the Mk3.
Let us know.

Are you having issues with the battery?

If the battery is not immediately visible in the engine bay then there are a pair of connectors in the engine bay for use when jump starting either your car or someone else’s. You should use this to connect the charger to if you wish to charge the 12v battery. This will avoid any damage to components from an electrical spike.

Slightly puzzled as to why you should think the 12v battery of a new car needs a boost. It will have been fully charged before installation and if it were a common issue then would expect it to be recharged as part of the dealer delivery process.

Terminals for 12v battery are under bonnet, -ve on rear bulkhead & +ve in fuse box!

Section on jump-starting in manual gives pictures. Agree you shouldn’t need to charge in brand new hybrid. I collected mine just over a month ago & no issues with 12v battery.

There is indeed a panel in the boot on the left that could hide the battery, but it is not as easy to open as it was in the mk2. I will look for the terminals later today, than k you for that.
There are several comments in the '2024+ VW tiguanMk3' facebook group and in this forum (look for 'Low 12 volt battery warning' thread) of people exhausting the 12 V battery on new cars by
- spending time reading the manual in the infotainment system. It seems the infotainment system drains the 12V battery if you don't run the engine while using it
- playing with the volkswagen app. Depending on what you do in the app, it may wake up the car which again drains the 12 V battery

Also some people reported that their car was delivered with a depleted battery. On my car, I do not know if it was or was not when it was handed over (as I did not know where to check), but it was delivered with 0% charge in the high-voltage battery. If that was not given some initial charge, the 12V battery might not have been charged either.
Thus I want to be prepared and know how to charge the battery, if the unlikely event happens
