Welcome to the New MK3 Volkswagen Tiguan Forum!
Got error 'drive system, visit workshop' on Thurs, tried to book in and initially told that earliest I could get it looked at was 23 Sept. Dealer wouldn't advise if I could still drive it so had to get VW ASSIST out to check it. Tried changing fuel sensor but still issues; after some intervention car then booked in with dealer tue 27 Aug. Tried it Fri morning and was running really rough, drove it to dealer appx 3 ml in limp mode. After a lot of pushing managed to get loan car through VW. Latest from dealer - still need to do further diagnosis - but suspect hi-pressure fuel pump. Playing the waiting game now, not overly impressed, 3 month old vehicle with just 1300 miles done.
Elegance Launch edition, 1.5 (150) etsi
Probably better to put this in the faults section for people to see, I had a drive system error the other day which also gave a stop start error but it went away after I turned it off and on again, the only thing I noticed with the error was that the radiator fan had kicked in which I have never heard before.essgeedar wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 10:41 am Got error 'drive system, visit workshop' on Thurs, tried to book in and initially told that earliest I could get it looked at was 23 Sept. Yes I think they were the first few models that came out, there was a limited run of them. They came with the following for free:Bertieb wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 9:18 am Lovely classy looking car in that colour!
I’ve heard others with Launch Editions talking about a list of problems.
I took delivery of mine late June so started looking at end Mayish and at that time I never heard any reference to Launch Editions! There wasn’t even any mention of them on the VW Website.
Are they very early models?
- Comfort package with safe lock including memory feature
- Driver assistance package
- IQ.Light - HD matrix headlamps
- infotainment package plus (15 inch touchscreen)
- black styling pack
I picked mine up in April

Had my 2024 Tiguan ehybrid for three weeks now and overall very happy . Is there anyone out there who can answer my question which local dealer and VW customer care cannot. In the online manual it states how to set the schedule for home charging using the 13 amp socket of wall mounted charger. When I follow the instructions on the infonaut screen the option to set schedule is not there! Is it supposed to be or have VW decided to remove this facility but forgot to edit the manual?

Doesn’t sound as if it as bad as yours since it is only occasionally and even the only the last few degrees as it opens. Assumed at first it was a bit of dirt that had got between the two parts but think now it may be the gap between the two parts is too small. Will keep an eye on it to see if it is perhaps temperature dependent
Did you ever get your squeaky door mirror sorted after?
I called in to VW Swindon, over 6 was ago, and they said it (or mechanism, not sure) would have to be replaced and they would get back to me.
Heard nothing more so chased yesterday.
Interestingly, the person who rang me back today told me that his Wife has a Mk3Tiguan and that her door mirror also squeals after rain has go to it. He’s promised to get back to me this time!!
Seems like there’s perhaps a wider issue than a one-off.
I’ll flag up any further info I get back.

Well thanks for the info..
I initially wondered about using a spray of some sort, perhaps silicone spray, but dealer said not to. As far as white grease spray is concerned, which I believe is lithium based, my understanding is that it is damaging to plastics over the long term.
As the Tiguan mirror body assembly is plastic then maybe questionable.
