Hi everyone,
I am from Türkiye and I am happy to be here and also I am happy had a MK3 Tiguan. I have some questions.

- Has anybody tried to activate some hidden features? If yes, please tell us what they are.

- Is the side mirror lowering automatically when shift the gear to reverse position?

Thanks everyone!!!

Hi and welcome, if by hidden features you mean using VCDS/Carista etc I believe that you can't actually change any settings yet due to extra security features on the car that they are yet to overcome, as for the dipping mirror look here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=111

Sadly the ability to make changes with VCDS or Carista on any of the VAG family of vehicles became significantly reduced with the introduction of MIB-3 and I suspect that the move to MIB-4 will make it even harder. This is not that surprising as VAG (and other manufacturers) is looking to sell post delivery upgrades to owners through the Shop/Store function and see it as a valuable revenue stream. Some owners of later current generation A6s that has MIB-3 have been able to do some coding changes with https://vcpsystem.com/index.php, but I have no idea if this will do anything on the Tiguan. Also be aware if by trying to do a code change you corrupt the main MMI computer it will cost several thousand pounds to put right

Hi all
Better late than never to introduce myself, I suppose, as have been a member of this forum for around seven weeks, and took delivery of my new Mk3 Tiguan Elegance 1.5 eTSI 4 weeks ago today.

Had a Mk2 Tiguan SEL 1.5 TSi150 EVO DSG which I absolutely loved! That was purchased new from Inchcape VW Swindon back in 2020 and this time around I again purchased from the same Dealership because they bent over backwards to find the trim/colour I wanted whilst keeping it just under the so called luxury car tax. In essence they jumped over the heads of my local dealership!

I have to say that initially I found the new Tiguan rather challenging in comparison with my SEL, due to the significant increase in the use of digital technology, but having now done just over 1000 miles I am now getting used to it and feeling more at ease with the car.

My view on the technology is still that I think VW have gone a bit over the top with things, for just one, example having to go through two screens just to switch on/off the aircon or turn up/down the fan! Sometimes just a plain old push button or rotatory knob does the job so much more efficiently whilst not requiring you to take your eyes off the road!

Apart from the software gremlins that VW need to sort out, one small issue with the driver’s door mirror is disappointing - it squeals loudly when folding in/out during and after it has rained. Interestingly, when I wash the car …..it doesn’t do it!? Dealer says the unit will need to be replaced …..just hope it’s not going to be on a long back-order list!

Time will tell whether my new Elegance is going to match the long term satisfaction I got from my Mk2 SEL! Hope it will!

I too have a squeaky door mirror. Doesn’t sound as if it as bad as yours since it is only occasionally and even the only the last few degrees as it opens. Assumed at first it was a bit of dirt that had got between the two parts but think now it may be the gap between the two parts is too small. Will keep an eye on it to see if it is perhaps temperature dependent

Strange! If yours is only doing it occasionally then certainly does suggest that some varying factor might be the cause. With mine, doesn’t matter whether it’s a cool day or a steaming hot day - it doesn’t make a sound until it’s been raining for a while but doesn’t happen when I wash then rinse the car with a hose!

I haven't looked under the back of the front seats in the MK3 but my Mk2 R line looked just like that, you used to be able to but covers off Aliexpress.

Hi guys, thought I would introduce myself and my new mk3 1.5 eTSI 150 r-line launch edition.

Similarly to most on this forum I also have several teething problems with the car including:

Driver assist not working at all
Wing mirrors not dipping in reverse
12v battery low or empty warning
Passenger airbag amber warning

I am pleased with the vehicle overall but VW,s aftercare has so far not been great at all. This forum is fantastic so thank you to Rob for setting it up.

Lovely classy looking car in that colour!
I’ve heard others with Launch Editions talking about a list of problems.
I took delivery of mine late June so started looking at end Mayish and at that time I never heard any reference to Launch Editions! There wasn’t even any mention of them on the VW Website.
Are they very early models?
