Unbelievable!
Just a thought - as all our Tiguans, along with other brands cars, are now constantly online, what’s to stop a hostile agency hacking into the system and deliberately causing such problems in order to economically weaken the Western car manufacturers dominance?
Either that or these so called software engineers haven’t got a clue what they’re doing!

Had what is supposed to be THE upgrade last Monday, everything appeared to be good until pulling away from the fuel station on Wednesday evening a stream of the usual warning lights came up. The car drove home OK and it was too late to do anything by way of reporting to VW.
As it happens my car was booked in to AutoGlass for a windscreen replacement on Thursday (it has been on order for six weeks) and so needed to get the car over to them. Went out and started the car, no warning lights and so drove to Lowestoft with everything working as it should. It was a good job there were no warning lights as the AutoGlass chap-said if there was he would not have been able to replace the screen and the car would have had to go back to VW.
As I had to leave the car with AutoGlass I had to advise of the non start issue which the technician at VW was not sure had been fixed in the software upgrade. Told them if it didn't start when they needed to move the car to leave it for 30 minutes and try again, that raised eyebrows.
I really hope the software issue on Wednesday was just a glitch but I think there will always be a question mark over this car. This is such a shame as the car looks really good, R Line in Nightshade blue with black wheels and it drives really well.
I suppose we should have a confidence that VW will eventually get all the software issues resolved although I have to say that confidence does not seem to be shared by the VW technicians who are dealing with this on a daily basis, they certainly seem less than confident that this latest upgrade will be fully successful.

Is there anyone on here who isn't experiencing problems?
I've got a R Line ehybrid due in January and this is all a bit concerning.

Don't worry about it SJI, most people coming to forums usually come because they have some issues or questions. Same with other social media like Facebook groups, you're going to see far more posts from people complaining rather than celebrating arrival of their new car, it's completely normal.

I don't have any numbers, but I'd imagine for every person with an issue, there are 99 others who have none - just as an example. Sadly, there's no guarantee that the vehicle you've ordered will come and actually work properly, but same goes for pretty much any other brand.

The 74 plate Match that I had as a loan car for 2 months while I was waiting for the software update was completely error free.

VW are recovering the car today and dropping ANOTHER Tiguan off, this will be my 5th car in 5 months.

My car was sat for 2 months waiting for the update, the issue is with the battery apparently.

Waiting on details of the rejection process now.

Although I absolutely feel for those with issues (some much worse than others), it is reassuring to hear from those who haven't experienced any problems.
