Hi!

I’ve just got my Tiguan R line 2024. We’ve had it 1 week and the whole dashboard has lit up with errors. We have taken it into the VW workshop once already to which they have completed a software update but all of the error messages have come straight back. They have told us there is a second update which they are waiting for VW to release. I dont have much experience in this so Just wondering if anybody has had the same or can advise?

Hi to everyone here.
Picked up my VW Tiguan 2.0L TSI 265CV, R-Line United Dolphin Grey several options from Dealer in Switzerland on 25 Oct 2024.
Drove out of the lot, several miles out of the dealer, I got two warnings. Now is worse, all related to the assist.
Stop by the dealer and no error found in the system, car seems to be up-to-date.
Have an appointment to take it in on 11 Dec 24 and dealer will keep it for one week.
Though I love the engine, it's been a total disappointment. Software too invasive, error, speed waring not as accurate as my VW Tiguan mk2, which I regret trading it in.
I have a feeling I'll be stuck with a leasing contract for 4yrs, and cannot do anything without loosing a lots of money.
Here is Switzerland no lemon law or other. I'm pretty sure AMAG CH will give me the run around.
Will update once I get the car back.

My Tiguan 2024 R-LIne 1.5 eTSI which I purchased in October is at a local VW garage after a Dynamic Cornering light error. The garage have told me a software update is required from VW in order to fix the issue. They are not able to estimate how long it will take for the software fix to be available and whether this is something that will affect other Tiguans. I am worried I may be waiting weeks for a fix (given time of year too). Does anybody know how quickly this type of issue typically takes to resolve please? Is it worth complaining to customer complaints to escalate or is it a case of just waiting?

Tiguan 2024 R-Line eTSI (purchased October 2024) software update needed.

My Tiguan went in to VW garage last Wednesday 11th December after a Dynamic Cornering light fault on dashboard. VW garage tell me the car requires VW to create a software fix and I need to wait for this to be available before the car gets fixed under warranty. I am worried this could take weeks. Does anybody know what the typical resolution time is for this type of issue? Local VW don’t seem to be able to offer any details, timescales etc which is frustrating. They have provided me with a curtesy car. Should I just be patient or is it worth me escalating to VW complaints to request more information? Thank you

There was a new software update released last Friday night (13th December) which my car is in the process of receiving. It is a very large and complex update so far it has taken a day and it is still not done. That update may or may not also include a fix for your dynamic cornering light issue. The issue with software related issues (not just for cars!) is that there is no quick fix. Once reported, the piece of faulty software needs to be identified, new code written and tested. Despite evidence to the contrary the new software will then need to rigorously tested, more than normal software given the safety implications. It will then need to be released to the dealers for installation.

I doubt anyone in VW other than someone in the software development team, will have any idea if the problem is being worked on and if it is when it will be released, so I thin you need to be patient and VW will want you back in your own car quickly as they are paying the dealer commercial hire rates for the car even if it is part of their service courtesy car fleet. I would suggest you ask your dealer to look at the release from last week and see if it makes any mention of your issues.

Thanks elan2s for your reply. Sorry for late response.

My Tiguan was fixed after one week at the VW dealership (not too bad given the circumstances) and the software fix has solved the issue with the dynamic cornering light error.

I have since noticed notifications coming up on the Infotainment system when starting the car. The first is a privacy notice to make me aware I have set this to sharing my position and the other is about new settings being available that can be applied for my user profile. I except the settings but the message keeps coming up (every other start-up). I’m guessing both messages are bugs as they re-occur and will be fixed at some point but interested to know if anyone else has noticed similar?

Many thanks.

I get the "changed settings" message. If I cancel, then it comes up after every start. If I press OK it resets some of my preferences(like background lighting and blind spot monitoring) and still comes up after 1-2 days. Went to the dealer and they said a softer bug and reported it to VW

Have you tried deleting the Tiguan from the VW app and re-setting up the connection? I’m wondering if it’s worth a try. I have also set my local dealership know about the error so hopefully someone will be done to fix it soon.

Tiguan has stopped syncing data to the We Connect VW App. Anyone else had the same issue?
