Hi all
Went out to local shops this morning got back in car and it wouldn't start all sorts of warning lights coming on thought it might of been the battery as I only do very low mileage so put a boost pack on to no luck.
So I got out of car locked it left it for five minutes and it's started got home rang my local vw inchcape up were I purchased it from they said its a known fault that they thought they had a fix for but it didn't so I'm waiting for a reply as to what they are going to do has any one else had this issue.

Yes, happened once, lots of warnings and starter button dead, left it 10 minutes and it started fine with no warnings. Daughter’s boyfriend has a brand new Golf 8.5 that has done it twice.
All reported to the dealer but no fix known as its so intermittent and cannot be replicated to order.

First time poster

I had this occurred 3-4 times. Been with dealer longer than I have have the new 2024 eTSI.

Call yesterday from dealer confirming VW knows about this issue and is affecting others. Fix not expected for 6-8 weeks

Had this ‘non staring’ issue today -contacted call-out -told would be with me within an hour
Tried a few times & gave up !!
Tried after about half an hour & get presto -it started-called helpline to cancel & they confirmed this was a known ‘random’ fault-no fix available yet -not very satisfactory

Same issue, car has been back with the dealer for longer than I drove it. Was assured VW were rolling out the software update this Monday (9th September), but the dealership then called to say the update had been pushed back by at least a week. Apparently so they could do more testing.
